Our production line is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have 4 teams that are working 12 hour continental shifts (7 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines to position
 Clean and prepare work station and machines
 Assemble and test components and ensure adherence to specified requirements, soldering experience is an asset
 Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts and systems
 Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies
 Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods
 Production reporting (Excel/Production system (Navision)
Ensure profitable business operations
 Complete other tasks as required and/or directed
 Maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures and related Ministry of Labour laws
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
 High School diploma or equivalent
 Minimum of 2 years of production experience
 Ability to work Day and Night shift
 Basic computer skills

About the Opportunity

Currently, Silfab is seeking experienced and flexible Maintenance Electricians to join their collaborative team in Mississauga, ON.

In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment, which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems, while working from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and equipment specifications.

Working primarily on voltages up to 600V (AC/DC), you will:

·       Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contractors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, valves, etc.;

·

·       Run new power supply lines to new/relocated equipment according to IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code and company policy;

·       Wire new control panels according to supplied drawings and verbal instructions while adhering to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations;

·       Recognize and diagnose faults on electrical equipment or systems, which may involve complex interlocking, interrelated circuits, integrated systems and complex sequencing;

·       Install, examine, replace and repair electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components;

·       Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts inventory levels;

·       Perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper and safe work conditions;

·       Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements;

·       Read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams;

·       Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance;

·       Make trade calculations for load requirements and select appropriate sizes/grades of components in accordance with current electrical code;

·       Ensure production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine break down, or unsafe operating conditions and inform Engineering and Maintenance Manager about changes in electric circuits and update original diagrams;

·       Always follow LOCK OUT procedure on unsafe machines/machines being serviced;

·       Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms; and

·       Organize workplace to comply with housekeeping requirements.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have a valid Provincial Industrial Electrician’s license (preferably inter-provincial), knowledge of applicable electrical codes and 3-5 years of experience employed as an Industrial Electrician, ideally within a production environment.

Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and ladder/function block logic, you have working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors, etc.

Hands-on experience applying hydra-electric, electro-pneumatic and electro-mechanical theories is a must as is the ability to work well with minimal supervision and take initiative.

A proven team player and strong communicator with excellent organizational skills, you will be a great fit for this role if you are able to:

·       Maintain an awareness of the big picture;

·       Understand and use programming devices for troubleshooting and modifying programs;

·       Perform basic wiring work, conduit bending, controls cabinet wiring and general installations;

·       Identify causes of problems while developing methods of correction;

·       Lift up to 40 lbs;

·       Work overtime and weekends as required; and

·       Work shift work as required.

Job tasks are as outlined but not limited to:

VIEW 

PROCESS TECHNICIAN (Solar Module Manufacturing)
WE NEED AN ENERGETIC AND COMMITTED INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL
  • 2-3 years of work experience in Solar Module manufacturing plant.
  • Perform complete troubleshooting and changeover different configurations for TT1200, TT1800, TT 2100
  • Optimize the soldering recipes for materials on the equipment for better productivity and to reduce losses in the process of complete finished product and achieve low breakage yield.
  • Coordinate with research and development department to qualify BOMs and process techniques in order to optimize Cell-to-Module Loss.
  • Programming and optimizing for ATN soldering parameters for cycle time and quality
  • Optimize gel content, Adhesion tests to ensure supplier material meets internal qualification requirements in compliance with ASTM D2765 & ASTM D903
  • Optimize the manufacturing process to ensure product meets highest quality of safety in compliance to UL 1703 standard, in addition to IEC 61215 module performance.
  • Optimize the process in terms to meet mechanical load testing of Solar Modules in compliance with IEC- 61215 standards.
  • Optimize the gel content tests, adhesion tests for Buerkle Laminators (2 Step, 3 Step) for the lamination process with different materials
  • Perform Non Uniformity tests, Calibration and set up new products on QuickSun 820A Module Solar Simulator in compliance with IEC-60904-9
  • Perform Non Uniformity tests, Calibration and set up new products on Pasan SunSim 3c in compliance with IEC60904 standards.
  • Knowledge on calibrating vision systems[ Vitronic Vision system and Omron]
  • Starts-up new products and equipment and supervises installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents and transfers to production
  • Participates in multi-functional teams (industrial staff, R&D, Marketing, etc.) to resolve problems and develop new products.
  • Maintains safety, product quality/yield, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  • Perform all duties to operate all equipment, all within limitation of the standard methods and procedures and in accordance with strict adherence to safety, environmental quality and productivity requirements.
  • Ensure finished product meets Silfab Ontario quality standard.
  • Understand machine controls, properties of materials, associated quality tests and standards to determine root causes of quality defects and effectively trouble-shoot the process.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical Technology program at College/university.
  • Good Knowledge of the application of statistical tools in process control and product monitoring.
  • Background demonstrating initiative and acceptance of full responsibility for a job
